About Us
Our Mission

The Good Food Project is committed to minimising food poverty in Tāmaki. We're creating a robust community food service and co-op system that ensures every resident has access to nutritious, affordable food. Our plans to establish a mega purpose-built community kitchen in line with Tāmaki College's Masterplans will serve as a hub for food education, production, and distribution.
Our Story
Founded in 2023, the GOOD FOOD Project began as a small initiative focused on supporting rangatahi and whānau in the Tāmaki community of Glen Innes, Panmure, and Point England with food security. We recognised the pressing need for sustainable food solutions in our community and set out to make a difference.
We plan to establish a range of platforms that enable youth and their families to have better access to quality food and innovative food solutions. Our journey is a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives in creating lasting change.
We are a Project Rise Initiative
Project Rise: Empowering Tāmaki Through Community-Led Innovation
Project Rise a groundbreaking initiative developed by Tāmaki Connect Trust in partnership with Tāmaki College, is revolutionising community development in our rohe. Project Rise is not just connecting the college with the local community – it is creating a powerful engine for positive change in Tāmaki.
Our Project Rise kaupapa:
Co-design: We work hand-in-hand with the community to create projects that address real, on-the-ground needs.
Community Governance: Our unique model ensures that every initiative is truly for and by the people of Tāmaki.
Holistic Development: Through education, community projects, and social enterprises, we're driving comprehensive social and economic growth.
Project RISE is more than a programme – it's a movement that is empowering the Tamaki community to take charge of its future.
